Polymer corners with recessed fasteners are used to absorb the damage during loading and unloading, unlike steel corners that dent and chip and will tear the paint off anything they slide across. Industrial strength cold-formed steel handles flip out from the cabinet’s side location for easy lifting. *All Old Dog cabinetry is constructed in the United States of America using void-free Baltic birch. The vinyl used is easy to clean and will sustain a professional look for years to come. This patented impedance switching jack assembly system allows users to connect to a 4X12 modular array at 4- or 16-Ohm Mono or 8-Ohm Stereo with any combination of cabinets. It is nearly impossible to mess up mic’ing the X Cabinet, which will run at 4 or 16 Ohms mono or 8 Ohms stereo and is one of the very first cabinets to have a Plug and PlayTM jack plate installed, a feature that allows guitarists to connect with ease to the amplifier of their choosing. Features Patent Pending “Plug and Play” Jack Plate Assembly Loaded with 4 (Four) Vintage 30 Celestion Speakers Another idea we implemented was isolating the individual speakers from each other. Since this would support the back of the cabinet’s structure, we thought it might be a good way to achieve our objective. We then decided to only partially isolate the individual speakers and leave a shared area at the center of the cabinet open, which produced a number of new sounds and led to our decision to reshape the cabinet’s sides. We took a square, added simple “V” notches to support the back and partially isolate the speakers, and then added diffusers from Egnater Amplification to eliminate the hiss from the center of the Vintage 30’s. We hope you have as much pleasure playing it as we did in making it. It all began with the stick typical to a standard 4×12, which is normally attached to the baffle to keep the back panel from collapsing we decided to eliminate it, since its purpose was purely structural. In case you didn’t notice, the Old Dog X-Cabinet is shaped a little differently than the majority of other 4×12 cabinets on the market.
